Cough And Colds

November 18th, 2009 by Edith

Most of us suffered from cough and cold this cold season. Like me my cough and colds started last Tuesday and I’m so thankful that it was gone yesterday. I’m a little bit fine and happy. There are many ways on how to reduce discomfort if you suffered from cough and cold. The first thing to do is to drink plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration and to help clear the mucus. Get plenty of rest. Avoid too much of work and if you can file a leave at work. You need to stay at home especially if you have cough and colds with fever. Gargle with salt water to relieve the sore throat. If you have losenges, hard candy or ice chips, it can help to soothe the sore throat. Avoid smoking if you have cough and colds. Don’t hesitate to take medicine if needed.

November 13th, 2009 by Edith

This is Adie, one of my granddaughters in the Philippines. At the age of 5 she can read both English and Filipino. She’s so smart, can read books alone with comprehension. Aside from books at school, her parents provide with many books at home like story books, bible story books and many more. I like her she’s so smart, cute, adorable kid and very talented. As of now she is a kindergarten at Casa Amazing School, one of the private school in the Philippines. I miss her already and I wish I can visit them on December or before the end of the year.

Life

November 10th, 2009 by Edith

I have no words to write in my blog today. So, just a quote about being a simple life. My life doesn’t need to be perfect because nobody is perfect except God. I only need a simple and comfortable life. Life that is full of smile, laughter and happiness. We all know that it is natural to have sacrifices, duties and responsibilities in life. The most important is you know how to face and solve all the problems that come in your life.

Hibiscus Flower

November 5th, 2009 by Edith

Hibiscus is one of the most beautiful flowers from spring, summer and ends in fall time. They are easy to plant, fast to grow and the flowers are very pretty. There are two kinds of hibiscus flowers; the single and the double flower. There are over 200 kinds of hibiscus and they grow all over the world. You can select from different colors and varieties from red, yellow, orange, pink, purple, white and many more colors.

I remember before we use the flower for skin disease, hair treatment and many other illnesses. This kind of flower love so much in sunlight and the flower blooms nicely. They can easily adapt to any kind of soil types but they prefer the soils with lots of organic matter. If the soils are healthy automatically the flowers will bloom and the plant grows healthy too. Like many flowers, hibiscus also needs water, sunlight and easy to care.

Cutest Chicken

November 4th, 2009 by Edith

Chicken is the most common and widespread domestic animals. Many people keep chicken as the source of food and we love it both meat and eggs. These cute and adorable chickens were taken at Meadowville garden centre last July 1 during the celebration of Canada Day. They have lots of chickens, birds and different kinds of animals. I was there together with friends and my sister. We also bought some flowers and at the same time take pictures of the gorgeous flowers and adorable animals.

Friends are really precious for me. You can ask help from them in times of emergency. Well, I would like to say thank you to my friends who are ready to give a helping hand. They help me with regards to my financial problems. The story goes like this. Last month when I was about to pay the stuffs that I like I can not found my wallet. Sad to know that I really forgot to bring my wallet. It’s so bad and I am at the counter that time. My friends are there and save me. They give me money to pay my stuffs. It’s a lesson to me and I promise to myself that it will not happen again. I said to myself next time before I leave I need to check my wallet before go shopping.

Tips On How To Keep Your Children Safe

November 1st, 2009 by Edith

Hi! Good day to all the parents out there. I would like to share  few tips on how to keep your children safe and enjoy this coming Halloween. First and for most, parents or responsible adult should always take young children on their neighborhood rounds. Make sure that your children wear costumes  that are bright and reflective, short enough to prevent  tripping. Just purchase flame resistant costumes, wigs and accessories. It is best advisable for the children not to wear masks. You can paint your face for safer alternative. Make sure that emergency identification is secured discreetly within your child’s Halloween costumes. Let the children carry flashlights with new batteries. Check always around your home for hazards. If possible avoid using candles in pumpkins and consider using battery powered lanterns. Make sure to sort and check treats to closely examine and throw away unwrapped, spoiled or suspicious items and treats that can cause choking are given only to children of appropriate age.  I hope this tips can help the parents to keep their children safe and happy while enjoying the Halloween celebration.

Pumpkin Decorations

November 1st, 2009 by Edith

Last night we went to our neighborhood for trick or treat together with my granddaughter Abby, my daughter, friend Elma with his son Peter. We went house to house and played the traditional trick and treat for Halloween. We brought basket for Abby and a bag for Peter. They were so happy to received the chocolates, biscuits, chips and many more.

By the way these pumpkin decorations belongs to my friend. They had a pumpkin contest at work and she won the contest. The first pumpkin in the picture belongs to her group.
